News: Man, 53, fatally struck by dump truck in midtown Toronto

TORONTO, ON – A man was killed Monday morning when he was hit by a dump truck while crossing the street in midtown Toronto, according to CTV News.

Police say the man was crossing Dufferin Street at Eglinton Avenue shortly after 10:30 a.m. when he was hit by the dump truck as it made a left turn.

The victim, an unidentified 53-year-old man, was rushed to a local trauma centre, where he died a short time later.

The dump truck’s driver remained at the scene and cooperated with officers. It is unclear whether that individual will be charged in connection with the deadly crash.
