TORONTO, ON — Authorities responded to an injury hit-and-run collision early Tuesday in Toronto involving an ambulance, according to Global News.
An unspecified vehicle struck the ambulance and a pole near the corner of Bloor Street and Dovercourt Road at about 3:30 a.m.
While few details have been released, Toronto Paramedics officials said the crash left two paramedics injured and the pole severely damaged. One victim was transported to a local hospital with injuries considered serious but non-life-threatening. The other paramedic was treated at the scene.
Authorities said the injured paramedics were not transporting any patients in the ambulance at the time of the crash.
While no other injuries have been reported, at least two occupants in the striking vehicle abandoned the car and fled the scene on foot.
