News: Toronto police officer sent to hospital after crash in Harbourfront area

TORONTO, ON — A Toronto Police Service officer was involved in a collision that downed a light pole Saturday morning in Toronto’s Harbourfront area, according to CTV News.

The accident happened at the intersection of Fort York Boulevard and Dan Leckie Way. It was first reported by the Toronto Police Operations at 8:50 a.m., when part of westbound Fort York was already closed for a reconstruction investigation.

Details are limited, but a police cruiser appeared to have been in a single-vehicle wreck involving a light pole, which was downed in the incident.

Authorities said one officer was transported to an area hospital as a precaution, suggesting minor injuries. One other officer was reported uninjured.
