News: Female cyclist, 24, fatally hit by trash truck in Yorkville 

TORONTO, ON – A 24-year-old woman riding a bicycle passed away after colliding with a garbage truck on westbound Bloor Street in the Yorkville area Thursday. 

This collision happened before 9 a.m. along Avenue Road, according to CBC Toronto. Police said the truck driver, a 39-year-old adult, remained at the scene. 

Officers said a construction bin was inside the bicycle lane when the collision unfolded. They are investigating whether this bin played a role in the crash. 

Police have not released other information, including the cyclist’s name and whether charges will be filed against the driver.
