News: Toronto officer hospitalized after two-vehicle crash in Mississauga

MISSISSAUGA, ON – EMS crews rushed a Toronto police officer to a trauma center following a two-vehicle crash on Highway 403 Thursday.

Ontario Provincial Police told Toronto City News that the collision happened around 3:15 p.m. when a transport truck and a motorcycle, operated by the officer, collided. The force of the collision left the motorcyclist with serious, non-life-threatening injuries.

Officials shut down the westbound lanes of Highway 403 between Dundas Street and Queen Elizabeth Way for six hours so crews could remove the affected vehicles and clean up debris.

Officers are actively determining which motorist caused the crash and have not mentioned any citations or charges.
