News: 1 dead, another hospitalized after two-vehicle collision in Etobicoke 

ETOBICOKE, ON – One person died and another person was hospitalized following a two-vehicle collision on Highway 401 East near Dixon Road Sunday. 

The crash took place before 4 a.m., according to CTV News. The impact of the collision caused one driver, a 29-year-old man, to be ejected from his vehicle. 

The 29-year-old man and the other driver, also 29, were taken to a hospital by EMS crews. During the ride, the man who was ejected succumbed to his injuries. 

 

The surviving motorist sustained minor injuries. 

Officers shut down eastbound Highway 401 along Ellington Avenue. During the closures, drivers were also not permitted to take northbound Highway 427. 

Officials reopened all lanes after 12 p.m.
