News: 1 hospitalized, dog dead after pedestrian crash in downtown Toronto 

DOWNTOWN TORONTO, ON – One person was hospitalized and a dog died following a pedestrian crash in downtown Toronto on Friday, Jan. 2.

The person and dog were walking together near the intersection of Lakeshore Boulevard and Remembrance Drive when they were struck by a vehicle, according to CBC.

Toronto police responded to the scene before 2:30 p.m. and declared the dog dead at the scene. EMS crews were also dispatched and transported the pedestrian to a hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Police shut down the area for nearly an hour before reopening all lanes at 3:21 p.m.

Police confirmed the driver stayed at the scene and have not confirmed if they cited the driver.
