NORTH YORK, ON – A male pedestrian in his 20s was killed in a collision involving a semi-truck that occurred east of York University on Tuesday.

The pedestrian was struck by the truck while walking in the area of Steeles Avenue West and Petrolia Road, CTVNews reports. The incident occurred around 8:15 a.m. and warranted a quick response from EMS, who transported the pedestrian to a hospital. There, the pedestrian succumbed to his injuries.

Police confirmed the truck driver stayed at the scene.
