News: Man, 61, arrested after Mississauga hit-and-run that killed pedestrian 

MISSISSAUGA, ON – Police arrested a 61-year-old male suspect following a hit-and-run crash that killed a pedestrian last Wednesday, on April 15, CTV News reports.

The incident unfolded before 4 a.m. in the area of Derry Road and Hurontario Street, when a dark-coloured SUV and then a second vehicle struck a male pedestrian.

The 61-year-old male suspect, who drove the SUV, fled the scene and continued driving westbound on Derry.

The pedestrian, identified as a 47-year-old man from Brampton, succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

Police arrested the suspect, identified as Sergio Dacosta, from Toronto.

Dacosta is being charged with failing to stop at the scene of a collision resulting in death.
