News: Man, 34, charged after fatal pedestrian in Hamilton

HAMILTON, ON – A 34-year-old man is being charged in connection with a fatal pedestrian crash that took the life of a 70-year-old woman earlier this year, CTV News reports.

The pedestrian crash happened on Monday, February 9, at the intersection of Barton Street East and Kenilworth Avenue North in Hamilton.

Police pursued an investigation immediately and by April 30 determined that charges were warranted. So officers arrested the male suspect and charged him with one count of careless driving that resulted in death under the Highway Traffic Act.

The man, who was not identified, is scheduled to make an appearance in court in June 2026.

Anyone with more information on February’s fatal pedestrian crash is asked to contact the phone number or email listed in the initial source.
