TORONTO, ON – A 48-year-old man from Richmond Hill is facing charges in connection with a vehicle-pedestrian crash reported on Friday.
CTV News said the man was driving a red Ford F250 pickup truck on Bathurst Street South when he lost control of it and crashed into a telephone pole and three pedestrians on the sidewalk.
One pedestrian, a 30-year-old woman, was uninjured, while two other pedestrians — a 32-year-old man, and a 2-year-old boy were. EMS crews took the man and boy to a hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
EMS crews took the driver to the hospital as well, although he was only treated for minor injuries.
Police say the man is being charged with careless driving causing bodily harm or death, and is scheduled to make a court appearance next month.
