News: Cyclist hospitalized after crash with cement truck in Toronto

TORONTO, ON – A cyclist was sent to the hospital after a crash involving a cement truck that happened in Toronto’s Moss Park area on Monday.

CTV News said the incident happened around 11:30 a.m. The driver of the large truck struck a cyclist as they were making a turn at the intersection of Queen Street East and Berkeley Street.

The cyclist suffered serious, non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to the emergency room for treatment.

Police said the driver stayed at the scene, but have not confirmed whether they would face charges.

Officials closed Queen Street East in both directions between Berkeley and Ontario Streets for the on-scene clean-up process and investigation. Authorities told drivers to expect delays as crews worked to restore safe road conditions.
