News: 2 hospitalized after car crashes into Scarborough school

SCARBOROUGH, ON – Two women were transported to the hospital following a two-vehicle crash that caused one to plow into a school building on Monday.

The two-vehicle crash happened before 4 p.m. off Lawrence Avenue East and Charlottetown Boulevard, which is in the Port Union area, Toronto City News reports. According to the photo, it appears a gray sedan struck a portion of Sir Oliver Mowat Collegiate Institute.

EMS crews transported a driver, a woman in her 70s, and another woman, in her 40s, to an area emergency room.

The woman in her 70s is recovering from serious injuries, and the woman in her 40s from minor injuries.

Officials have not specified the events leading to the crash, but said that the woman in her 40s was either a driver or a passenger, or whether the woman in her 70s was the driver who crashed into the building.
