CALEDON, ON – Police were called to the scene of a deadly collision in Caledon on Sunday morning, Global News reported.
The accident happened on Kennedy Road at about 9:30 a.m. Officers from the Ontario Provincial Police arrived to find that two vehicles had collided just north of Mayfield Road and one of the vehicles had gone up in flames.
The driver of that vehicle was not able to escape and was pronounced dead at the scene. Two passengers in the other vehicle were taken to a trauma center with serious injuries. The driver sustained minor injuries.
Kennedy Road remained closed for several hours for the crash investigation that was being conducted by a police collision reconstruction team. Anyone with information about what happened or dashcam footage was asked to contact Caledon OPP.
