News: 1 injured, another critically in shooting-turned-crash in North York

NORTH YORK, ON – One person sustained minor injuries and another was left in critical condition as a result of a shooting-turned-crash that happened along Downside Park Wednesday.

The incident unfolded after 1:00 p.m., when two men, acquainted with each other, got into a fight, got into their vehicles, and chased one another until they crashed into a third vehicle not part of the altercation, Toronto City News reports. The collision occurred in the area of Stanley Greene Boulevard and Downsview Park Boulevard.

One of the men, who was shot in the leg, sustained critical injuries. He was sent to the hospital and appears to be in stable condition.

Toronto police confirmed that one driver fled the scene and said they are actively searching for that motorist.
