News: 1 killed, 1 hospitalized after pickup truck crash near Toronto Zoo

SCARBOROUGH, ON – One woman was killed and a man was sent to the hospital following a pickup truck crash that happened west of the Toronto Zoo on Wednesday.

The collision occurred off Markham Road and Finch Avenue, according to CTV News. Police responded to the scene after 6:45 p.m. Video footage showed a damaged gate, indicating that the pickup truck had likely crashed into it.

Ambulance crews took a man to the emergency room for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Officials did not specify whether the man or woman was behind the wheel.

A full investigation is underway.
