PICKERING, ON – One woman died and two others were sent to the hospital after a two-vehicle crash on Altona Road on Monday.
The collision happened around 10:45 a.m. near Pickering Concession Road 3, according to CTV News. Preliminary details show that a Toyota SUV driver, a 74-year-old woman, had allegedly crossed the southbound lane and went over into the northbound lane and crashed into a Pontiac sedan.
The Pontiac driver, an 85-year-old woman, died from her injuries at the scene. Ambulance crews took the Pontiac passenger, an 84-year-old woman, to a trauma centre and the Toyota SUV driver, a 74-year-old woman, to a hospital.
The 84-year-old woman is recovering from critical injuries, and the 74-year-old woman from serious, non-life-threatening injuries.
