TORONTO, ON – A 17-year-old driver is facing charges after a Tesla crashed into a North York lowrise late Thursday night, injuring six people.

According to the Toronto Sun, the collision took place on Parkway Forest Dr., near the intersection of Don Mills Rd. and Sheppard Ave. E., just before midnight.

The incident involved an SUV leaving the roadway, crossing a sidewalk, and crashing into the rear living space of a unit within the building.

Three adults inside the home sustained injuries as a result of the crash. One man suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries, while another man and a woman were treated for minor injuries at the scene.

The 17-year-old driver of the Tesla and their two passengers – a woman and a child –  were transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

Toronto Police have confirmed that a charge has been laid under the Highway Traffic Act (HTA), but they have not disclosed the specific offense the teenager is facing.
