News: Accident partially closes eastbound Hwy 401 in North York

TORONTO, ON – Authorities were called to a wreck late Monday afternoon that closed part of eastbound Highway 401 in Toronto’s North York area, according to Trafficnet.ca.

The collision took place at the collector lanes approaching Highway 404, or Don Valley Parkway. Emergency crews were on the scene some time before 5:08 p.m.

While it’s unclear what events led up to the accident, the two right eastbound lanes were initially blocked.

At 6:17 p.m., the right lanes were reopened, but the left lane was shut down as clean up at the scene continued.

No information regarding potential injuries has been disclosed, but the scene was reported cleared by 6:26 p.m., more than an hour following the crash.
