News: Authorities called after vehicle crashes into mosque at Scarborough intersection

TORONTO, ON — A vehicle was sent crashing into a mosque after colliding with another car Sunday morning in east Toronto’s Scarborough district, reports CTV News.

The accident unfolded at the corner of Bertrand Avenue and Birchmount Road, in the Golden Mile neighborhood. Toronto Police and Toronto Fire crews responded to the area shortly after 11:15 a.m.

Officials have not specified what led up to the two-vehicle collision, but one of the involved cars then struck the mosque just northwest of the initial crash site.

Toronto Police Operations did not immediately report any injuries or pending charges.

Motorists were advised of road closures and delays in the area.
