News: Boy, 10, seriously hurt in scooter collision in Regent Park

TORONTO, ON – A 10-year-old boy was left in serious condition as a result of a scooter collision that occurred in Regent Park on Tuesday, CTVNews reports.

The crash occurred before 5:45 p.m. on Parliament Street and Shuter Street. Preliminary details show that the scooter rider had crashed into the back of a parked SUV as the driver was exiting.

The force of the collision had thrown the boy from his scooter, and he sustained serious, non-life-threatening injuries.

An eyewitness hurried to the boy’s aid and stayed with him until first responders arrived. After arriving, EMS crews hurried him to the hospital for treatment. He appears to be in stable condition.

The driver remained at the scene and fully cooperated with the police.
