News: Boy, 15, hurt in bicycle crash in Mississauga’s Meadowvale West

MISSISSAUGA, ON – A 15-year-old boy sustained serious injuries in a bicycle crash that happened in the Meadowvale West neighbourhood Monday.

According to CTV News and obtained footage from CP24, it appears the driver of a black SUV had struck the teen cyclist on Trelawny Circle. The collision happened outside of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Secondary School. It appears that the bicycle got wedged underneath the SUV after making contact.

Peel Regional Police and medical helicopter personnel were summoned to the scene. Upon arrival, first responders airlifted the teenager to a trauma centre for treatment of serious injuries.

The Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board (DPCDSB) confirmed the teen cyclist is a grade 9 student at Mount Carmel.

Police did not specify whether they cited the driver or if they could anticipate any criminal charges.
