News: Boy killed, man critically hurt in Mississauga pedestrian-vehicle crash

MISSISSAUGA, ON, – A boy lost his life and a man in his 60s was left in critical condition after a pedestrian versus vehicle crash near Lake Aquitaine Park on Thursday.

The boy and the man in his 60s were walking in the area of Millcreek Drive and Millrace Court when they were struck by a southbound white SUV, according to CTV News.

The boy and the man were said to have been ejected and fallen in front of a northbound Volkswagen. The Volkswagen driver was said to have struck the two pedestrians.

Police and fire crews and EMS personnel were dispatched to the scene before 5:30 p.m. and arrived swiftly.

The force of the collision caused the boy to be trapped underneath the Volkswagen, requiring him to be extricated by fire crews.

First responders rushed the pedestrians to a hospital. There, the boy died from his injuries at the scene.

Officials did not specify where the boy is from or whether the man and boy were acquaintances/friends or family members.

Peel Regional Police have launched a full investigation.
