News: Car fatally hits man, 11-year-old boy in Scarborough 

SCARBOROUGH, ON – A man and 11-year-old boy who were riding a motorcycle died after getting struck by a left-turning car Thursday.

CBC said the collision happened before 6:30 p.m. when the driver of the silver Nissan was turning left from northbound Manse Road onto westbound Kingston Road and collided with the Red Honda motorcycle on southbound Manse.

Police and EMS crews hurried to the scene. After arriving, police declared the male motorcyclist dead at the scene. Paramedics rushed the 11-year-old boy to a trauma centre where he later died.

Officials confirmed the motorcyclist, 47, was the 11-year-old boy’s father.

The driver, 68, remained at the scene. Authorities are working to determine the events leading to the crash.

Police issued a several-hour-long closure before reopening the area.
