News: Car plows into North York sinkhole, injuring driver

NORTH YORK, ON – A driver was left with non-life-threatening injuries after plowing into a sinkhole along Bathurst Park Wednesday.

Toronto police told Toronto City News that they responded to the intersection of Sheppard Avenue and Don River Boulevard after 9:30 p.m.

Officers said the driver was briefly trapped in the sinkhole and did not say if fire crews had to extricate the motorist or if they were able to free themselves. Regardless, the driver got out safely and was rushed to a hospital.

Police shut down the area to accommodate the scene clearance process and told drivers to anticipate delays as first responders rendered aid to the impacted driver.
