TORONTO, ON – Toronto Police rushed to a the scene of a truck versus pedestrian collision Friday morning in west Toronto that left an 11-year-old boy in critical condition, according to Global News.
The incident was reported at Albion Road and Beattie Avenue, near Elmhurst Drive in the city’s Etobicoke district. First responders were called to the scene some time after 9:00 a.m.
Preliminary details indicate the boy was crossing the road at a Z intersection, possibly on his way to school, when he was hit by the cab area of a transport truck.
The child, who was administered life-saving measures, was rushed to a trauma centre in critical condition.
Officials said the driver stayed at the scene following the wreck and cooperated with investigators.
No charges have been confirmed at this time.
