News: Cube van fatally strikes female pedestrian in Brampton 

BRAMPTON, ON – A 29-year-old female pedestrian lost her life as a result of a collision involving a cube van on Thursday, CBC reports.

The incident unfolded when a cube van made a right turn from Queen Street onto McLaughlin Road and struck the woman who was crossing the intersection.

Police and EMS crews pulled up to the scene at 5:50 p.m. EMS crews rushed the pedestrian to a hospital, where she later died.

Police said the van driver reportedly drove away after running over the woman. Police were able to catch up with the driver at the intersection of McLaughlin Road and Charolais Boulevard.

Officials are actively working to determine whether or not the driver realized he struck the woman and have not classified this as a hit-and-run at this time.

Eyewitnesses are urged to contact the police immediately.
