News: Driver charged with impaired driving, fleeing Caledon collision

CALEDON, ON — A 24-year-old Brampton resident faces charges following a hit-and-run crash Sunday, January 14, in Caledon’s Bolton area, reports Global News.

The incident was reported near Healey Road and Coleraine Drive at about 12:00 p.m.

According to a preliminary investigation by the Ontario Provincial Police, Melina Raggiunti Brown was impaired by alcohol, which impacted her ability to operate a motor vehicle.

No information about the circumstances of the hit-and-run crash has been shared, but Brown was charged with “operation while impaired,” as well as “failing to remain at the scene of a collision.”

She has a court appearance scheduled for next month. Her vehicle was impounded for seven days, and her licence was also put on a 90-day suspension.

Authorities have not indicated any injuries following the hit-and-run.
