News: Driver suffers medical episode, crashes pickup truck in Pickering

TORONTO, ON – A driver was rushed to the hospital Thursday morning after his pickup truck crashed off the side of a roadway in Pickering, City News reports.

Police say the truck veered off of Bayly Street near Whites Road shortly before 6:30 a.m. and crashed in a roadside ditch just a few feet from the nearby train tracks.

The driver, an unidentified man, was taken to an area hospital, and is expected to recover. Investigators believe he suffered a medical episode which led to the single-vehicle crash.

Traffic was delayed in the area for some time following the crash while crews worked to evaluate and clear the scene. All lanes have since reopened.
