News: Drivers, child hurt in wrong-way wreck near Kingston 

NEAR KINGSTON, ON – One motorist drove the wrong way on Highway 401, leading them to collide with another vehicle, injuring themself, the other driver, and a child Tuesday. 

This crash happened after 1 p.m. near Gardiners Road, according to CBC. Ontario Provincial Police did not provide many details leading up to this collision but said the driver, who traveled the wrong way, went west on the eastbound lanes. 

Police said the drivers were taken to Kingston General Hospital in critical condition. One motorist has since recovered a bit from their life-threatening wounds and is not in critical condition anymore. 

The child did not sustain critical wounds but was also rushed to a hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.  

Police initially closed Highway 401 and lifted all lane closures, which extended to Odessa, around 9 p.m. 

The police department has launched an investigation but has not released other information at this time.
