News: Emergency crews respond to crash on westbound Hwy 401 near Parkwoods

TORONTO, ON – Part of westbound Highway 404 was closed early Wednesday in northeast Toronto following a crash, according to OPP GTA Traffic.

First responders were called to the scene at Highway 404, just north of the city’s Parkwoods neighborhood, at about 5:09 a.m.

Ontario Provincial Police did not immediately indicate what caused the wreck or how many vehicles were involved, but all westbound express lanes were shut down during the emergency response and investigation.

The closure remained in place for nearly 12 hours, until 5:04 p.m. in the late afternoon, when crews had cleared the scene.
