News: Head-on wreck in Oshawa sends 2 to hospital

OSHAWA, ON – EMS crews took a 52-year-old woman and a 25-year-old man to Toronto trauma centres following a head-on collision Friday.

The crash happened before 8 a.m. on Simcoe Street North, according to Toronto City News

Duluth Police said the events unraveled when the 25-year-old man, driving a Mazda pickup truck, drifted off the northbound lanes and into the southbound lanes. Moments later, he struck a GMC SUV operated by the 52-year-old woman.

Both drivers were left in serious condition.

Officials had to close the area for a major portion of the day for the standard scene clearance and investigation period.
