News: Injuries reported after multi-vehicle wreck on QEW near Oakville

OAKVILLE, ON – A driver was charged with careless driving Tuesday morning following a multi-vehicle crash near Oakville that left at least one person injured, according to OPP Highway Safety Division.

The wreck took place on the westbound lanes of Queen Elizabeth Way (ON-403) before Royal Windsor Drive. It was first reported by OPP at about 8:06 a.m., when Burlington OPP had already respond to the scene and initiated an investigation.

Preliminary details show three vehicles were involved, resulting in minor injuries to at least one person.

Officials say a driver in a Tesla had pulled to the left shoulder of the highway because of the traffic buildup ahead. At one point, a driver in a pickup truck struck an SUV from behind.

The pickup truck driver now faces a charge of careless driving.
