TORONTO, ON – Police have filed charges against the driver responsible for a wrong-way crash in Brampton last month that claimed the life of a woman.
According to Global News, the collision took place at about 9:30 a.m. on October 22nd along Queen Street East, between Dixie Road and Central Park Drive.
Investigators say the suspect lost control of his black Lexus sedan, causing it to veer into the oncoming lanes were it collided with another vehicle.
One occupant of the vehicle that was hit, a 64-year-old woman, sustained fatal injuries in the crash. Another woman, 54, was rushed to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injures. Their identities are not mentioned in the report.
The wrong-way driver, 19-year-old Gurman Cheema, has since been charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death.
