News: Man, 59, dies following bike vs. vehicle crash on Bayview Ave near East York

TORONTO, ON – A man was struck and fatally injured by a vehicle Monday morning while riding a bicycle in Toronto’s East York area, according to Global News.

At about 9:25 a.m., first responders were dispatched to the scene on Bayview Avenue, near the Don Valley Parkway exit ramp and Evergreen Brick Works.

An early investigation indicates the cyclist, a 59-year-old man, was heading northbound on Bayview Avenue when he was hit by a 2023 Ford Bronco Sport that turned onto the road from the Don Valley Parkway.

The impact of the crash sent the cyclist falling onto the ground. He was rushed to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Officials have not confirmed whether the driver, a 38-year-old man, is expected to be charged or cited.
