News: Man charged in fatal pedestrian accident at Toronto intersection

TORONTO, ON – Toronto police said a driver involved in a fatal pedestrian accident last month has now been charged in the case, according to a report by CP24.

The incident happened Nov. 13 at about 10:30 a.m, when a man crossing at the intersection of Dufferin Road and Eglinton Avenue West was hit by a dump truck making a left turn.  The victim, age 53, was pronounced dead after being taken to an area hospital.

The driver, identified by police as 31-year-old Rohit Sharma of Brampton, has been charged with dangerous operation of a conveyance causing death.  He is due for a court appearance next month.
