News: Man, daughter dead following multi-auto crash in Pickering 

PICKERING, ON – A 40-year-old man and his 3-year-old daughter were sent to a hospital, where they died after colliding with two vehicles and hitting a guardrail Tuesday.

CBC said that the man was involved in a collision that happened before 8 p.m. at Taunton Road and Brock Road. In this specific incident, the man had turned left onto Taunton when he hit a Nissan with his Honda.

The man did not render aid or stay at the scene. He kept driving with his daughter. For reasons unclear, he drifted from the road and crashed into a guardrail. He and his daughter exited the vehicle and began walking. As they continued, they were struck by a second vehicle, a BMW.

The man and his daughter later passed away.

Police suspect the man and his daughter were walking back to the initial crash site when they were struck by the BMW. Officers noted that the roads where the crashes occurred had minimal street lamps. The lack of light could have reduced any of the drivers’ visibility. That being said, authorities are not considering any charges against the other motorists.
