News: Motorcyclist dies following crash with SUV at Mississauga intersection

MISSISSAUGA, ON – A man in his 20s died following a motorcycle and SUV collision Thursday night in the Meadowvale area of Mississauga, reports Global News.

The accident took place at the intersection of Derry Road West and John Watt Boulevard, prompting calls to Peel Regional Police at about 9:45 p.m.

Although officials have not publicly described what led up to the collision, photos captured at the scene show a black motorcycle down in the middle of the roadway. A grey SUV appears to have sustained major damage to the panel, bumper and door of its rear quarter.

The young man, who was operating the motorcycle, suffered critical injuries. He was rushed to an area trauma centre where he was later pronounced deceased.

First responders also transported the driver of the SUV to a local hospital for minor injuries.

At this time, it remains unclear which party was at fault in the fatal crash. An investigation remains underway.
