CAMBRIDGE, ON – At least one person had to be hospitalized Wednesday morning following a multi-vehicle crash on Highway 401 in Cambridge, reports CityNews Everywhere.
The accident, which closed the westbound lanes from Hespeler Road to Highway 8, prompting a response from emergency crews at about 9:00 a.m.
Preliminary details indicate up to six vehicles, including a tractor-trailer, were involved, but the cause of the crash was not immediately apparent.
Officials said as many as two people were hurt with non-life-threatening injuries. One patient, a woman in her 40s, required transport to Hamilton General Hospital.
Morning rush commuters faced long delays as crews responded to the scene.
An investigation remains in progress.
