BRADFORD, ON – An off-duty York Regional Officer and another person were injured in a three-vehicle crash that happened on Highway 400 on Tuesday.

The multi-vehicle collision occurred around 3:45 a.m., according to CTV News. Preliminary details show that a driver of a transport truck lost control of their vehicle and was rear-ended by a passenger vehicle and another vehicle. Officials later confirmed the two vehicles were a pickup truck and SUV.

EMS crews transported the off-duty officer to a trauma centre for treatment, and another person to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

Authorities shut down the highway for several hours to accommodate the scene clean-up process and investigation, and reopened all lanes after 1 p.m.
