News: OPP responds to collision on southbound Hwy 400 south of Vaughan

VAUGHAN, ON – Parts of southbound Highway 400 near south Vaughan were blocked Wednesday afternoon following a collision, according to OPP GTA Traffic.

The accident happened on the southbound lanes of the highway at the exit to the Highway 7 collector lanes, in the Woodbridge area. It was first reported at around 2:16 p.m., when Ontario Provincial Police had already responded to the scene.

Few details have been made public, but at the time of the initial report, the southbound express lane 5 was shut down, along with the Highway 7 onramp.

It was not immediately clear whether anyone was injured or needed to be taken to a hospital.


By 7:34 p.m., more than five hours later, officials had cleared the scene from the roadway and all travel lanes were restored to traffic.
