News: OPP responds to fiery crash on Hwy 404 at Wellington St in Aurora

AURORA, ON – A vehicle fire blocked a section of southbound Highway 404 in Aurora for over an hour early Tuesday, according to OPP GTA Traffic.

Ontario Provincial Police Highway Safety Division crews were dispatched to the scene between Wellington Street and Bloomington Road shortly before 2:20 a.m.

While the circumstances remain unclear, officials indicated that a collision had preceded the vehicle fire, which led to a closure of all southbound lanes in the area.

At 4:02 a.m., more than 1.5 hours later, officials announced that the closure had been lifted, leaving all travel lanes open to the public.

Local agencies have not confirmed whether anyone was seriously injured, and no charges or infractions have been reported.
