News: OPP responds to injury hit-and-run crash on QEW in Hamilton

HAMILTON, ON — One person suffered minor injuries early Wednesday when a wrong-way vehicle collided with their car on Queen Elizabeth Way in Hamilton, according to CP24.

The wreck occurred on the Red Hill Valley Parkway ramp to Toronto-bound QEW at about 3:38 a.m., prompting a response from the Ontario Provincial Police shortly after.

Preliminary details indicate at least three people were inside an SUV traveling in the wrong direction. At one point, the SUV struck another SUV on the ramp, leaving both vehicles with considerable front-end damage.

While the victim driver was transported to a local hospital for minor injuries, witnesses said three male occupants from the wrong-way left the scene on foot before authorities arrived.

Anyone who may have more information about the incident is encouraged to contact the OPP.

An investigation remains underway.
