News: Rear-end wreck in Vaughan, sends 1 to hospital, ends in arrest 

VAUGHAN, ON – A commercial vehicle driver rear-ended a red car, ending one person getting sent to the hospital and the commercial vehicle driver’s arrest Thursday.

The collision took place on Highway 400 South along Highway 7, according to OPP Highway Safety Division. The red car was completely totaled.

The person who was injured was airlifted to a hospital. Police said the car driver did not suffer serious injuries but did not specify if the car driver was the hospitalized individual. Regardless, authorities charged the commercial vehicle driver with dangerous driving that caused bodily harm.

Officials did not identify the commercial motorist by name. They did, however, say he is a 38-year-old man from Newmarket. They also confirmed that he received a court summons to Newmarket Criminal Court, 50 Eagle Street, scheduled for March 13, 2025.
