SCARBOROUGH, ON – A driver ran two red lights, clipped another vehicle, and then crashed into a pole, causing their BMW to catch on fire and claiming their life Friday.
The collision happened before 12:30 a.m. in the area of Eglinton Avenue East and Brimley Road, CBC said. Fire crews hurried to the scene and said the fire was still going when they arrived. Before first responders arrived, the driver had suffered fatal injuries.
No injuries were reported for the other driver.
Toronto police confirmed the driver was traveling at a high rate prior to the wreck. They started an investigation and have not released other details at this time.
