News: Tractor-trailer crash closes part of Hwy 401 in Oshawa

OSHAWA, ON – A big rig carrying aluminum beer cans became engulfed in flames Tuesday morning after colliding with a concrete wall on Highway 401 in Oshawa, reports CityNews Everywhere.

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) said the incident unfolded on the eastbound side of the highway at Ritson Road, leading to a closure at about 6:15 a.m., during rush hour.

While it’s unclear what prompted the accident, but no one was reported injured.

Commuters faced delays as two eastbound lanes of Highway 401 were shut down, and access from Bloor Street was blocked off.

Toronto OPP responded to the scene for an investigation.
