News: Transport truck crashes off Hwy 400 near Bradford, causing long delays

BRADFORD, ON — A tractor-trailer and two other vehicles were involved in a collision Tuesday morning that caused heavy delays for commuters on Highway 400 between Toronto and Barrie, reports Global News.

The crash closed part of northbound Highway 400 at Highway 88, near Bradford West Gwillimbury. It was first reported by OPP (Ontario Provincial Police) Highway Safety Division just before 8:00 a.m.

Preliminary details show a transport truck traveling southbound veered through a ditch, crossed the northbound highway, and then came to a stop in the woods to the side of the highway.

Officials did not specify what role the other two vehicles played in the incident, but the northbound lane of Highway 88 was also shut down in response. Motorists were forced to detour from the highway and advised to re-enter Highway 400 from Highway 89. Significant delays were projected for all southbound traffic in the area.
