News Update: Woman, 81, charged in deadly North York hit-and-run 

NORTH YORK, ON – An 81-year-old woman was charged in connection to a deadly hit-and-run crash that killed a female e-scooter rider Wednesday. 

According to new information from CTV News, the e-scooter rider was said to have been 64 years of age and worked for the Toronto District School Board. She was leaving a friend’s house when she struck around 9 p.m. at the intersection of Sheppard Avenue West and Bathurst Street. 

Toronto police found the suspect’s small white Mazda sedan in the area near the crash site. 

They found and arrested the suspect, the 81-year-old woman. She was charged with “leaving the scene of an accident causing death and dangerous operation of a vehicle.” She is scheduled to appear in court this week.
