News: Woman charged following wrong-way crash in Vaughan involving snowplow

VAUGHAN, ON — A woman was arrested and charged for impaired driving following a wrong-way collision with a snowplow Thursday afternoon in Vaughan, reports Global News.

The accident happened at the intersection of Vellore Woods Boulevard and Major Mackenzie Drive West, some time before 2:00 p.m.

York Regional Police said the woman’s vehicle was traveling in the wrong direction until it collided head-on with a snowplow.

No major injuries were reported, but officials confirmed a 27-year-old Oshawa woman was taken into custody after her blood alcohol content was determined to be 80 milligrams, over the legal limit. An open container of alcohol was also found in her car.

As a result, the woman’s vehicle was impounded for seven days, and her driver’s license is set to be suspended for a 90-day period.
