News: Woman hospitalized after tow truck rear-ends car in Vaughan

VAUGHAN, ON – A woman was airlifted to a hospital after her car was rear-ended by a tow truck at southbound Highway 400 and Highway 7 Monday.

The tow truck driver hit the back of the car when they failed to slow down for traffic, CBC said. Once the rear-end crash took place, it propelled the woman’s vehicle into a pickup truck.

The impact of the crash broke off the woman’s red car door and bumper, leaving it completely mangled. Salt had also fallen from the pickup truck and was scattered in the roadway.

Ontario Provincial Police did not specify if the truck drivers were unharmed. However, they did say that the lady was recovering from minor wounds.

Crews shut down the area for a period of time before lifting the closures.
